The Caledonia Agricultural Society was established as a non-profit organization under the Agricultural and Horticultural Organizations Act in 1873.
We are Haldimand County's oldest community organization with many member families spanning four or more generations.
On January 16th, 1873, a meeting is held in the Caledonia Town Hall and a motion is made that it is "desirable to form an Agricultural and Arts Society for the purpose of holding Agricultural and Arts Exhibitions every Fall".
Thus, the Caledonia Agricultural and Arts Society was founded.
